For over three decades, Lions clubs around the globe have been sponsoring a very special art contest in schools and youth groups. Creating peace posters gives children everywhere the chance to express their visions of peace and inspire the world through art and creativity. This past year, the Conway Area Lions Club reached out to our local elementary schools to participate in the annual event, which theme was "Dare to Dream". The winners from Conway Elementary and the Pine Tree School were recognized during our January 4th meeting at which they had a chance to talk about their posters and what inspired them. Each winner was also given a gift certificate to Michael's. The winning posters have now been submitted to compete at the at the state level.
Once again, The Conway Area Lions Club will be holding a benefit raffle for the Miranda Leavitt Diabetes Fund. Instead of our usual kayak raffle, we have decided to raffle off a REI DRT 1.1 Mountain Bike. Online through our Square Online page have ended for this year. Tickets can still be purchased at our nacho stand during the 4th of July celebration in Schouler Park in North Conway. Click on the button below for more information.
More informationIf you would like to donate to help our local communities, there are two ways you can do so. First, you can donate towards our general charity fund. Money donated to our general charity fund will be used for eye and hearing care, local food pantries and other local organizations in need. Secondly, you can donate money that will go directly to a local food pantry. If you have a preference to which food pantry it goes to, please note it in the memo when making the donation.
