In the early morning hours of January 15, 2022, just 17 days before his 90th birthday, William “Bill” Jones, 89, of North Conway, NH and formerly of Lynn, MA, peacefully passed away at home after a 3-month period of declining health. His daughter Nancy and her partner Phil were lovingly and supportively by his side. Bill is now home in Heaven with his late wife Jean, his soulmate and love of his life, who passed way January 23, 2013.

Bill was an active Lions member for 50 years, first being inducted as a member by the Lynn Massachusetts Lions Club in 1972. He went through the chairs servicing as Treasurer, Secretary, Vice President and ultimately President of the club. Bill served on many committees, including Membership and the Youth Exchange Program. Under his Presidency in the Lynn club, they won Best Club in the District and Best Club in Massachusetts. Bill was inducted and served as the District Governor of 33N for 1983-1984. During his tenure with the Lions, he was involved internationally with many clubs around the world, thus his involvement reviving the Youth Exchange Program, both nationally and internationally. Bill and Jean would have youths staying at their home in Lynn Massachusetts while they were here in the states.

Bill started the Mount Washington Valley Lions, which dissolved prior to the founding of the Conway Area Lions Club in Oct. 2014. Bill held a lifetime membership in the Lions Club and just recently became an official member in the Conway Area Lions Club.
