2024 Peace Poster Winners

2024 Peace Poster Winners

From left to right: Katie Bradley, Conway Elementary School principal; Rick Lammey, Conway Area Lions Treasurer; Bentley Gile, Conway Elementary School Peace Poster winner; Sharon Lammey, Conway Area Lions Club President; Misha Blake, Pine Tree School Peace Poster winner; Holly Preece; Pine Tree School art teacher; Stevi Laird, Conway Elementary School art teacher.

For over three decades, Lions clubs around the globe have been sponsoring a very special art contest in schools and youth groups. Creating peace posters gives children everywhere the chance to express their visions of peace and inspire the world through art and creativity. This past year, the Conway Area Lions Club reached out to our local elementary schools to participate in the annual event, which theme was "Dare to Dream". The winners from Conway Elementary and the Pine Tree School were recognized during our January 4th meeting at which they had a chance to talk about their posters and what inspired them. Each winner was also given a gift certificate to Michael's. The winning posters have now been submitted to compete at the at the state level.

Supporting our Local Food Pantries

Madison Food Pantry

On November 18th, members of our club helped the Madison Food Pantry distribute Thanksgiving meals along with donating $1,000.00 which will be used for stocking their pantry during the holiday season. The Conway Area Lions Club serve our local communities!  Not only do we regularly donate financially to local organizations, but we also volunteer to help those organizations serve our communities. If you are interested in helping people in the communities of the Mt. Washington Valley, become a Lion!

Donations for our local communities

If you would like to donate to help our local communities, there are two ways you can do so. First, you can donate towards our general charity fund. Money donated to our general charity fund will be used for eye and hearing care, local food pantries and other local organizations in need. Secondly, you can donate money that will go directly to a local food pantry. If you have a preference to which food pantry it goes to, please note it in the memo when making the donation.
